General Questions

OilTeam is a premier Rust gaming community that organizes competitive tournaments, community events, and produces content for the Rust community.
To join our events, you need to: 1) Create an account on this website by logging in with Steam, 2) Join our Discord server and link your Discord account, 3) Browse available events and register your team or yourself. Registration is subject to admin approval for competitive events.

Registration & Teams

Go to the event page and click 'Register Team'. You'll need to sometimes provide your team name, team tag. You can then add your teammates using their Steam IDs and Discord Usernames. Most of our events will require your entire roster to be in the OT Public Discord. Your registration will be reviewed by admins before approval.
Roster changes can be requested through your team management page. All changes require admin approval. Rosters changers are unlikely to be approved if submitted within an hour before an event starts.
Go to your Profile > My Teams and find the team you want to leave. Click 'Request to Leave' and an admin will process your request. Captains cannot leave without first transferring team ownership to another member.
Registrations may be denied for various reasons: incomplete information, players not being in Discord, rule violations from previous events, or the event being full. Check your notifications for the specific reason, or contact us if you need clarification.

Events & Competitions

Contact us as soon as possible through a Discord ticket or you can optionally request to disband disband your team in Profile > My Teams. If you fail to show up without notice for 2 events, your team may face penalties including being disqualified from the current season.
Check-in typically opens 30 minutes before the event starts. The team captain will receive a notification via our Discord bot and On the website when check-in opens. If your team doesnt check-in, your team will be marked as no-show.
During events, clip as much evidence as you can. And report the suspected player through the F7 menu. After events, submit create a ticket on the discord with the evidence gathered and the information will be passed along to the relevent admin teams. All reports are reviewed thoroughly before action is taken.
The majority of our events are streamed on the OilTeam YouTube, Twitch and Kick aswell as on our individual creator channels. Links are always posted in Discord before the event starts.

Technical Questions

Go to your Profile page > Settings and click 'Link Discord'. You'll be redirected to Discord to authorize the connection. Make sure you're already a member of the OilTeam Discord server before linking.
We accept SteamID64 (17-digit number). Websites such as steamid.xyz will allow you to paste your steam profile link and you can then copy your Steam64ID. If you are logged into the website your steamID64 is also available on your profile page.
Make sure your Steam profile is not set to private, and that Steam's servers are online. Try clearing your browser cookies and cache. If the issue persists, contact us through Discord with your Steam profile link.
